This program will offer learners foundational skills and how to apply these to film and edit a video programme. By the end of this program, you should be able to demonstrate basic techniques in videography, determine the objectives of the video product, identify “on location” factors (such as lighting, angles, interview noise levels) in order to capture the right spirit of the video product. You will also be guided on video-editing techniques and essential “do’s and don’ts” in filming and editing.

Target audience

This program is intended for those in the general public with an interest in video-production, as well as those aspiring to enter (or are currently in) the media and creative industries looking to enhance their understanding of video-production.

Course details and duration

This program runs for a total of 24 hours (3 full day or 6 half days), and is offered in both English and Mandarin Chinese

Program Facilitator

Ong Lay Hong has spent more than 35 years working in the Television Industry. She received her Bachelors in Telecommunications (Radio and TV Production) with a Certificate in Film Studies from Indiana University, USA. She started off as a camera woman in an America TV Station then joined Hong Kong Rediffusion Television News as a News producer. She joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (now MediaCorp) in 1982 and rose from the rank and file to become Chief Editor of Chinese News and Current Affairs on 2000 onwards.
